This costs you nothing

The commission is paid by the retailer out of their margin. You pay exactly the same price as you would have going to the retailer directly, and using our links never affects your pricing, warranty or returns.

What it does not influence

Commission rates play no part in our rankings. We regularly recommend products that earn us less than the alternatives we placed below them, and some of our recommendations earn us nothing at all. We do not accept payment for placement, sponsored reviews, or guaranteed positive coverage, and manufacturers are not given advance sight of our rankings.

Prices and availability

We do not print prices. They go stale within days, and Amazon's own terms only permit displaying one that comes from their API and is refreshed constantly. We check the real selling price when we verify a product, because it decides whether that product still deserves the role a guide gives it, but the figure stays in our notes rather than on the page. Always confirm the current price on the retailer's own page before buying.
