This site exists because buying home gym equipment is a minefield of near-identical listings, invented brand names and reviews that were written before anyone had used the product for a month.

We publish comparisons for people spending their own money — the sort where getting it wrong means not training for a year, not just filing a return. That means our guides care about noise in a flat, whether a rack fits under a low ceiling and which part of a bench fails first, rather than whichever product happens to pay the most.

Most of what we cover sits at the affordable end of the market, because that is where the listings are worst and the research is most useful. But we rank on what a product is worth, not on what it costs.
